Emergency Help

Need help now? Start here.

If you are in danger, under pressure, or unsure what to do, post in ASF Main or contact an Alpha admin privately. The team will help guide the situation, assist with coordination, and help escalate where needed.

Alpha is often the first place people turn when something goes wrong. That is okay. If you are unsure which service to call or what steps to take, send the details and we will help guide you as quickly as possible.

Important: Alpha helps with coordination, guidance, and visibility. In serious emergencies, SAPS, EMS, Fire, or TMPD may still need to be called. If you are unsure, post anyway — we will help guide you.

Need to get somewhere fast?

Best first message

What to send immediately

  • Location: exact street / nearest landmark
  • What is happening: crime / medical / fire / suspicious / accident
  • What is happening now: active / suspects fleeing / injured / contained
  • Immediate risks: weapons / bleeding / smoke / live cables / trapped people
If you are unsure

Use Alpha anyway

You do not need to figure everything out first. If you are stressed or unsure what to do, post what you know in ASF Main or contact an admin privately. We would rather help guide you early than get involved too late.

What kind of help do you need?

Choose the closest match below. If you are unsure, use ASF Main or contact an Alpha admin privately.

Security

Crime / suspicious activity

Housebreaking, robbery, theft, suspicious people, suspicious vehicles, attempted hijacking, or anything security-related.

Then send: location, suspect description, vehicle details, plate if known, direction of travel, and whether weapons are involved.
Medical

Medical emergency

Injuries, collapse, breathing problems, unconscious person, bleeding, seizure, or urgent medical distress.

Then send: location, age if known, breathing yes/no, conscious yes/no, bleeding yes/no, and any hazards on scene.
Fire / Hazard

Fire / smoke / dangerous hazard

Fire, smoke, gas smell, live electrical hazards, dangerous obstructions, or anything that puts people at immediate risk.

Then send: exact location, what is burning or leaking, whether people are trapped, and whether the area is still active or spreading.

How to ask for help clearly

If you post in ASF Main, keep it short and useful. Clear information helps responders and support structures act faster.

Include
  • Type: Security / Medical / Fire / Road / Other
  • Exact location: street + nearest intersection / landmark
  • What is happening now: active / contained / suspects fleeing / waiting for help
  • Immediate risks: weapons / injuries / smoke / trapped persons / live cables
  • Vehicle info: plate, make/model, colour, direction
  • Your number: if responders may need to call you
Avoid
  • Rumours and “I heard” messages
  • Flooding the group with repeated updates
  • Very long voice notes when short text will do
  • Graphic images or videos in public channels
  • Naming suspects without verification
  • Sharing private information outside authorised channels
Best mindset: short, clear, factual, and current.
Simple flow: Need help → Send location + what is happening → Alpha helps guide and coordinate from there.

Need private help or guidance?

If you are not comfortable posting publicly, or need direct help from the Alpha team, contact an admin privately. In an active life-threatening emergency, still call the relevant emergency service as soon as possible.

Tip: save key numbers in your phone now: 112, 10111, 10177, 107, TMPD, and the Alpha admins above.
